Window Restoration - Window Repair

Regardless of how poor the state of your existing windows, in most circumstances they can be restored to near original condition. In fact many windows look worse than they actually are but over a period of years your leaded lights and metal windows will of course deteriorate.

Leaded lights can start to bow and at that point cracks can appear in the glass, often then leading to leaks. The metal casements will start to rust and a build up of paint will make your windows difficult to open and close.

However Tec Glass are specialists in tradtitional windows and can normally restore them regardless of their condition. As such our work ranges from cleaning and leaded light repairs on site to complete window restoration. Window Repairs are normally not considered as it is such a specialist trade however Tec Glass welcome all enquiries and happy to give advice or further help.

Window Restoration Process

•   We carefully remove your leaded lights and metal frames.

•   We install temporary glazing whilst the restoration work is carried out at our workshop.

•   Leaded lights will be restored using all the original glass.

We also carry a stock of heritage glass for restoration, and the glass is hand picked for each project.

90 % of all windows can be repaired and refurbished to look as good as new.

We offer a range of paint finishes from polyester powder coating, wet spraying and hand painting.

Traditional Metal Windows

If in your property you have traditional Metal windows and they have started to look worn and in need of replacement, you will be surprised to know that 90% of all steel windows can be restored.

We can replicate Flat Iron Windows with pin hinges or W20 Windows, we can also manufacture handles and stays to match your existing windows.

Crittall windows and flat steel windows are most common in the older properties

Replacement windows can be very expensive and can also spoil the character of your home if the wrong windows are installed.
